Vancouver, September 2006

This post has been created in advance of showing up online. Hopefully if I check it on Friday… er.. today.. it will be there.
I’m doing so because I’m on vacation and by Friday I will be taking in some New York City action. Needless to say, those are a few days where I won’t be sitting around the house type type typing away.

Photo Phriday Phrom Toronto

September 20, 2009

With the busy lead up to this trip, I never got a chance to post photos on Friday. Now, two days later, I’m laying on a pull out couch at a friend’s house in Toronto. I’m not going to find a myriad of pictures to post, as I have better things to do on vacation!
But here are a couple I quickly found in my archive from this week in past years…

Starting with my lovely car, that just got a new exhaust system on Friday.

So much for photo phriday!

Well, I’m two days late, but what the heck.  I’m doing it anyways. Photos taken Sept.1-7.

Wow, The first week of September is weak sauce.  Well, I know I took some good ones this year.

They get added to the mix in 2010.

In other photo news, I have been scouring used stores in the past days looking for a older SLR.  After tons of consideration, I bought one that I hadn’t googled first.  For 80 dollars I got the below camera…

…plus extra lenses, a case, and a flash. It’s a Konica Autoreflex T3, produced in the mid 70′s.  And I think it works.

At least that’s what I’m hoping, otherwise I have an $80+ credit at Richmond’s Value Village. Right now I’m counting down the minutes until I can go pick up the film and see if it worked.

The reason for this purchase is because I want to photograph New York in film. I’ll be there in three weeks for a few days.  I’ve been before, but this trip is almost exclusively to wander and document it.

That’s not the only photo project I am going to embark on.. what should I do?

I take a lot of photos.  For instance, my iphoto has 15,000 pictures in it.  That only spans a couple years – and for a stretch of several months last summer, my DSLR was in the shop.

I don’t consider myself a photographer.  I don’t have the experience, the training, or the equipment to do so.  I just like taking pictures.  It’s a hobby for me.

That all said, I think I take some decent shots.  So, each Friday I’m gonna post photos.  They will have been taken this week, but not this year. It’s like a dip into Loxy’s photo archives.
